About Taylor
I am a Resident Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 2 years of experience in inpatient psychiatry, outpatient therapy, and programs supporting gender expression and identity. I provide trauma-informed, inclusive care for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, identity exploration, and trauma. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients can engage in emotional growth, self-discovery, and evidence-based strategies for healing.
I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University and have training in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing. My approach is humanistic and creative, helping clients build resilience, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth.
I am passionate about helping people reach their full potential in a non-judgmental, supportive environment. Clients can expect to feel challenged and encouraged to build self-esteem, recognize strengths, and move forward with confidence and genuine support.

"I strive to help each client utilize their strengths to improve their quality of life through a queer, sober, neurodivergent-informed, compassionate yet direct approach."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I began my professional career as an educator in a high school setting and discovered that mental health care is vital not only for the developing mind but for every individual. As a teacher, I often felt unequipped to fully support my students, so I pursued graduate-level studies in psychology to better address their mental health needs. Over time, I realized that I excelled in therapeutic settings and shifted my focus to counseling. My own experiences as a client in therapy further deepened my understanding of its value as a powerful tool for growth and healing.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who appreciate a direct clinician who gently brings awareness to possible cognitive distortions and unhelpful thought patterns or behaviors. Those who value a healthy balance of targeted skill-building and verbal processing tend to resonate most with my clinical style.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients who are committed to improving their mental health across their lifetime. I find it deeply rewarding to witness growth and progress over an extended period of time.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients could clearly see what makes them amazing. Too often, I find that people struggle to recognize their own strengths. It is troubling that we live in a society that frequently discourages individuals from embracing those strengths and declaring them with pride.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to work at Thriveworks because I deeply value the accessibility we provide to clients through Telehealth services. I am grateful to be part of a team that is so dedicated to delivering quality care.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by the moments of clarity individuals experience when they discover something for themselves. This might be a new coping strategy or an insight into current challenges, past experiences, or personal growth. It is wonderful to share in the excitement as someone realizes they have the strength to create positive change.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In a first session, clients can expect genuine curiosity and a nonjudgmental space. I value the perspectives of others and truly enjoy hearing their stories. I also pride myself on being a warm and compassionate individual.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In a first session, I aim to understand the client’s primary goals and reasons for seeking therapy. I also strive to clearly present my skills and capabilities in supporting their needs. I believe it is important to begin treatment planning collaboratively, with clients serving as active and ongoing participants, a key factor in achieving positive health outcomes.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Clients should know before scheduling a first session with me that I am flexible and open to feedback. If I present information, strategies, or potential insights that are not helpful, please don’t hesitate to express your needs. I encourage clients to practice self-advocacy, particularly in health spaces that have historically silenced marginalized voices. My role is to support you, which includes adapting my therapeutic style or modality to meet your needs—and your feedback is invaluable in achieving that.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my free time, I enjoy being with friends and family, songwriting, singing karaoke, hiking, dancing, watching TV, playing video games, and taking scenic mental health walks.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I’m an outgoing person who isn’t afraid to laugh a little too loudly or rock a bold fashion choice. Friends often describe me as “a lot, but in the best way.”
