About Myrlanda
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 16 years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan who face challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, and life transitions. I am passionate about helping clients gain greater self-understanding, build resilience, and foster self-compassion. My goal is to help each person develop the confidence and tools to create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
I earned a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from American International College. My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I integrate cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and strength-based strategies to help clients manage emotions, navigate stress, and achieve personal growth.
I understand that seeking help can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Together, we can create a path toward healing, clarity, and empowerment. I invite you to take the next step toward your well-being and begin your journey of growth and self-discovery with me.

"I create a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen and supported, drawing from my professional experience and deep belief in each person’s ability to heal and grow through connection and self-awareness."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I have always been deeply passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner strength. Over the years, I have witnessed how mental health struggles can impact every area of a person’s life from relationships and work to physical well-being and I wanted to be part of the healing process. Counseling allows me to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, validated, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I find fulfillment in guiding individuals toward greater self-awareness, resilience, and emotional balance, and I view each therapeutic relationship as a collaborative journey toward growth and recovery.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with individuals who are motivated to understand themselves more deeply and are open to making positive changes in their lives. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, and challenges related to relationships or self-esteem. I also work effectively with individuals managing mood disorders and those navigating stress from work, academic, or family pressures.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish everyone knew that healing takes time and that it’s completely okay not to have everything figured out right away. What matters most is showing up, being honest, and giving yourself grace along the way.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other, discussing your goals, and creating a safe space to share what’s been challenging. In the early stages, we’ll build trust, explore patterns, and begin developing strategies to support meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is informed by a deep belief in empathy, respect, and the power of human connection. Personal experiences with navigating life transitions and challenges have taught me the importance of listening without judgment, fostering resilience, and supporting each person’s unique journey toward growth and healing.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by meeting each client where they are, listening closely to their experiences, and collaboratively identifying goals that matter most to them. I draw on a range of approaches and strategies, adjusting as needed, so that each session supports their unique journey toward growth and well-being.
