About Melanie

Melanie Dudek is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with over 4 years of experience. She primarily works with adults across the lifespan who are managing issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, new or chronic illness, caregiver fatigue, grief, and end-of-life issues.

Melanie completed her Master's degree in Social Work at Simmons University. Melanie values the experience and intersectional identities that her clients hold, which enables her to tailor her therapeutic approach to meet her clients' individual needs. Her approach with each client is unique, multifactorial, and evolves over time. She utilizes a trauma-informed approach and draws from elements of narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solutions-focused therapy (SFT), and mindfulness.

In your work together, Melanie will meet you where you are at and you will work together to identify, define, and address your goals. She is eager to hear your story, learn from you, and support you in whatever is bringing you to this space. If you are ready to take the next step, schedule an appointment.

Get to know Melanie

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

For as long as I can remember, I have envisioned myself in a "helping profession." Though I love the clinical piece of my work, I also deeply value the social work field's emphasis on social justice principles. I am involved in anti-racism initiatives both personally and professionally.

What inspires you?

I am constantly inspired by the clinicians whom I have met along the way in my professional journey. I am also inspired by and am always learning from the individuals with whom I am privileged to work with.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love spending time with friends, family, and my cat Ziva! I enjoy trying new restaurants, eating new foods, and traveling when I am able. I try to stay active by doing both indoor and outdoor cycling.
