About Provider

About Martin

I am a Master’s Level Counselor with 13 years of experience providing direct care and outpatient counseling. I work primarily with adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and stress related to work, family, or identity. I also support individuals navigating complex medical or developmental concerns, helping them build emotional stability and stronger coping skills.

I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Merrimack College. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, integrating evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and strength-based therapy to support emotional regulation and insight.

In our work together, you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we move at a pace that feels safe and empowering. I am committed to meeting you with empathy and respect as we develop practical tools to help you heal, grow, and create a more balanced life.

Get to know Martin

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a counselor out of a deep desire to help people feel understood, supported, and empowered during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Through years of working in direct care and community mental health settings, I witnessed how compassionate, consistent support can foster healing, resilience, and meaningful change. This path allows me to combine my lived experience, professional training, and values to walk alongside individuals as they build insight, strength, and a greater sense of balance and purpose.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with adults who are motivated to better understand themselves and are open to growth, even if they feel overwhelmed or unsure where to start. I am especially effective with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and major life transitions, including those managing complex medical, developmental, or relational challenges. I connect well with clients who value a collaborative, respectful therapeutic relationship and are seeking practical tools, emotional stability, and lasting change.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is not about “fixing” yourself it’s about understanding, compassion, and growth, and progress often happens gradually through small, meaningful steps rather than instant change.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive conversation focused on understanding what brings them to therapy, their goals, and what feels most important right now. I take time to create a safe, non-judgmental space, explain the therapy process, and collaborate on next steps at a pace that feels comfortable. In the early stages of therapy, we focus on building trust, identifying patterns and strengths, and developing practical coping strategies to support stability and meaningful progress.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice is guided by values of empathy, respect, cultural humility, and resilience, shaped by my lived experience navigating different cultures, systems, and life transitions. Working closely with individuals facing adversity has reinforced my belief in the power of compassionate presence, consistency, and collaboration. These experiences inform my commitment to meeting clients where they are, honoring their stories, and supporting them in building insight, strength, and meaningful change at their own pace.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor therapy by starting with each client’s story, goals, and strengths, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I collaboratively adjust interventions, pace, and techniques based on what resonates with the client, their cultural background, life experiences, and current challenges. Throughout therapy, I regularly check in, adapt strategies as needed, and ensure the work remains relevant, supportive, and aligned with the client’s evolving needs and goals.
