Lisa is amazing. She takes the time to listen and makes me feel as though I can share anything with her. She knows how to take it in and approach the matter without making me feel less than or worse for sharing. Plus she is extremely knowledgeable. The only thing I would like to see, and this has nothing to do with Lisa, would be like sick time or something I could build or have for times something would come up and i couldn't make an appointment. I understand this can't be an option for all, but if you have been with the program for a year plus and have weekly meetings that you do make it to, I just feel as though the program should beable to work with you if you show that you are serious about it. That's all. Thank you. -Kevin

Lisa is really thoughtful and has such great information. She has helped me extremely well although I don't think that sentence is synthetically correct.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
Honestly I thought what better way to spend a life than to be able to assist people. I wanted to be apart of helping the problem not adding to it. I thought that the ideas, theories ,techniques in discovering how the mind works was fascinating to me. It made sense. I started as a biology major then quickly came to realize I don't do well with bodily fluids.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with those clients who are coming to therapy who genuinely want to learn and grow. Who are motivated to change. Or initially those who may have doubts about whether therapy actually works. I tell them if you want to change and do the necessary work you will!
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That they have within themselves everything that's needed to accomplish anything given some guidance!
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Flexibility and fair pay for work done.
What inspires you?
Nature, curiosity, believing in the potential.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Typically I create a non-judgemental compassionate environment for my clients. I am fascinated about learning about them. Their stories.life experiences, challenges.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love the ocean, kayaking, exercise, rock climbing, painting, reading, gardening, spending time with friends and family.
