What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with individuals who are used to being “the strong one”—the ones everyone depends on, but who are feeling overwhelmed, burned out, anxious, or stuck.
A lot of my clients are juggling relationships, motherhood, or high expectations, and they’re exhausted from carrying it all. On the outside, they look like they’re managing, but inside, it’s a different story.
If you’ve ever thought, “I should be able to handle this, so why am I struggling so much,” you’re exactly the kind of person I work well with.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m most excited to work with clients who are ready to be real about what’s not working anymore, even if they don’t have it all figured out yet.
You don’t have to be “fully ready” for therapy. You just have to be willing to show up and be honest. That’s where real change starts.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that it's okay to be open and honest about your feelings and experiences. Therapy is a safe space where you can be yourself without judgment, and your openness allows us to work together effectively towards positive change.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because of their strong dedication to providing quality mental health care to their clients. Thriveworks also has a great support system for their therapists, which allows us to focus on what we do best: helping our clients thrive. It's a professional and supportive environment, and I appreciate the emphasis on making mental health services more accessible to those in need.
What inspires you?
I find inspiration in the incredible complexity of human development and the brain. As a mental health outpatient therapist, I'm naturally curious about how the mind works, evolves, and copes with various challenges. Understanding the intricacies of human development and the brain motivates me to continuously learn and apply new insights in my practice, ultimately helping my clients navigate their mental health journeys with empathy and expertise.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
During the first therapy session, you can expect to complete an intake assessment, discuss and develop a treatment plan, create a safety plan, and have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know each other. This initial session sets the stage for a collaborative goal-setting approach and support throughout your treatment journey.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
During our first session, we will focus on completing an intake assessment to better understand your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. We will work collaboratively to develop treatment goals and discuss the potential approach to our therapy sessions. Additionally, I aim to build rapport with you, get to know you better, and understand how I can best support you on your mental health journey. This session will provide us with a strong foundation for our future work together.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a first session with me, it's important for clients to know that I prioritize creating a compassionate and non-judgmental environment. I am here to provide support on your mental health journey and to help you work through your concerns. I believe in building a strong rapport with my clients and am committed to understanding your unique needs and goals for therapy. I look forward to working collaboratively with you to develop a personalized approach that can support your well-being.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I spend time with my family and read. I am always looking for a cool new coffee shop to check out.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me outside of my professional life is my passion for outdoor activities. I love spending time hiking, and exploring nature. It's where I feel most at peace and rejuvenated.
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to what’s underneath the surface, what people carry that no one else sees.
So many people are used to holding everything together for everyone else while quietly struggling themselves. I wanted to create a space where they don’t have to do that anymore, where they can be honest, messy, overwhelmed, and still feel understood.
There’s something powerful about helping someone finally feel seen and start to feel like themselves again, and that’s what keeps me doing this work.
