About Josephine
Josephine Larbi-Boamah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 13 years of experience supporting clients across diverse settings, including acute psychiatric units, outpatient care, and geriatric populations. She has extensive experience providing individual therapy to children, teens, and adults, helping them navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, anger management, and life transitions. Josephine approaches each client as a unique individual, drawing on empathy, compassion, and cultural competence to foster healing and growth.
Josephine earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. She also holds a degree in Sociology and Religious Studies from the University of Ghana. She integrates approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior modification, and client-centered care, to promote achievable goals.
Josephine believes therapy is a collaborative journey and provides a safe, supportive space for clients to be heard and understood. She has a strong commitment to empowering individuals to overcome challenges and move toward total wellness. Her listening ear, empathy, and advocacy help clients develop the confidence to achieve meaningful change.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a therapist due to the gratification I feel when I see others succeed. It gives me so much joy to see others make meaning out of life and thrive in their own unique way.

I am open minded and have a great appreciation for people's individual experiences.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Spending time with family, watch movies, listening to music, challenge myself to learn something new such as baking and preparing dishes.
