About Provider

About Jessica

Jessica Caira is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has been with Thriveworks since 2018. Before focusing on individual therapy, she worked in acute residential treatment with adolescents and their families for 10 years. She specializes in assisting adults with stress and anxiety management, identity issues, life transitions, and relationship issues. She has a particular interest in working with older teens and young adults in navigating their transition to adulthood.

Jessica holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brandeis University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University. Jessica's approach to therapy is strength-based, solution-focused, and client-centered. She believes in adding skills, building insight, and enhancing your sense of identity to help you cope with your most difficult times. She can help you build self-esteem and resilience and will support you in nurturing positive relationships that will foster continued growth outside of therapy.

Jessica works to create a safe space and tailor individualized treatment to fit each client’s needs. She believes that building a therapeutic relationship is the first step in effective treatment, and will do her best to make you feel as comfortable as possible as you both delve into whatever may be troubling you.

Get to know Jessica

What types of clients do you work with best?

Young adults with a good sense of humor, who know what they want out of therapy and are open to feedback.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Clients who are excited about therapy and really engage in the process.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

Therapy will not "fix" you. Many people enter therapy as their own worst enemy, and I believe one of the functions of therapy is to help you figure out how to be your own biggest cheerleader.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want to gain an understanding of what brings them into therapy, and start to unpack what makes them who they are. I also want to make sure we're a good fit and start to build rapport.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love to read and spend as much time on the beach as I can, but I’m also a mom of 2, so I spend most of my time making snacks and driving to sports practices.
