Christine is the first therapist that I feel really understands what I need. I'm not your typical client, so a lot of clinicians feel lost. In our sessions I feel safe, supported, and heard.

About Christine
Christine Fisher is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with 9 years of experience who specializes in anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress, and trauma. No matter where someone starts, it’s possible to have a life with peace, joy, and healthy relationships. Christine has successfully helped many clients move forward on this journey.
Christine has a bachelor's and master’s degree from Huntington University. She has engaged in extensive post-graduate education in trauma-informed care, complex trauma, attachment issues, interpersonal neurobiology, and the polyvagal theory. Christine values personalizing treatment to each client to ensure it is effective. She creates an open and accepting environment where every client can feel safe. "Healing, growth, and change happen when a person feels heard and accepted. With compassion and teamwork, difficult thoughts and emotions can be untangled and start to heal," says Christine.
Do you find yourself in emotional chaos and not able to connect to healthy relationships? Do you find yourself stuck with coping strategies that don’t work? Do you struggle to feel as though you know yourself and understand your needs, and how to have these met in your daily life? Many people struggle with these issues and it's possible to make progress no matter where you start on this journey. Therapeutic work can focus on current urgent needs, deeper healing work, or a balance of both. Therapy with Christine can help a person move from chaos to compassion to growth.

"I am dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment so that every client can have a place to feel accepted, respected, and ready to heal."

Get to know Christine
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I think people are really interesting, and I love the chance to see people work through things and start to feel joy and empowerment again in their lives.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I enjoy working with all kinds of people, and I've always had a passion specifically for helping people overcome trauma and find healing.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I get excited about all of the them to be honest, I love seeing how each person grows a bit differently and getting to be their cheerleader through the process.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
It almost always feels awkward in therapy at first. There's one part of you that wants to be open and get everything out there, and it's fighting with a protective part of you who's pointing out that you're not sure about sharing all this with a stranger. Even if it's a professional stranger. It gets a lot easier once we ease through that.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
My cat decided it was best for me to work from home so he can get the amount of daily attention he deserves.
What inspires you?
Staying curious about everything around me - my own inner world, other people, other cultures, nature, the universe, etc. It's all interesting.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Building some initial comfort talking together, gathering up information about what's going on right now, and identifying the most urgent needs to work with first.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want my clients to walk away from the first session with hope, some understanding of what's happening/where things are coming from, and, if needed, some tools to start with right now until the next session.
