Get to know Cherie

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I wanted to help others discover their individual strengths and learn to appreciate them while also learning that their past does not define their present and future. However, I hope to help clients learn from their past to support their growth in the present and future.

What types of clients do you work with best?

Clients who are ready to do the therapeutic work. And this can look like taking the first step by reaching out for help, such as making a first appointment.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Individuals who are open to learning and growing even when it is difficult.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Therapy is good for all people, including therapists.

What inspires you?

My husband and daughter who both have a great sense of humor and are eager to learn.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Someone who will listen but also seek to understand the reason for the client to reach out for support at this time in their life.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

What brings the client to therapy and one goal they hope to reach while working with me.
