About Celine
Celine De Santis is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who has been practicing in the field of mental health for over 30 years. Her clientele includes both children, teens, and adults who are suffering from the negative effects of chronic stress, anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, PTSD, phobias, grief, bereavement, and more.
Celine earned her Master's degree in Social Work from Simmons University. Her treatment focuses on individual, family, group, and play therapy approaches. She began her work as a mental health professional in addiction treatment, which she discovered was an excellent segue way into other behavioral health disorders. Post-traumatic stress, major depression, and mood dis-regulation are often present with both the identified client as well as their family members and are issues Celine is particularly adept at helping to manage or resolve.
Celine is available to listen and help work through any barriers that are keeping her clients from experiencing the quality of life they're seeking. As an experienced individual and family therapist, she also respects and recognizes the vulnerability and the strength of taking that first step toward positive change.

Get to know Celine
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Clients that are motivated for change. They are open to homework assignments which can be a very effective way to change negative thinking patterns and promote healthy behaviors and coping skills,
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
The therapist is only a conduit for a person's success in treatment. The client does all the heavy lifting.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I received a very warm and a light-hearted email from my recruiter in response to my Indeed resume'. My first introduction being so positive, it just got better with each interview. The fact that clinicians are involved in the Thriveworks business end is very impressive. The dedication to their clients' needs and welfare is shown by carefully interviewing and vetting prospective clinicians. In addition, access to medication consultation and case consultations are big pluses.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I would be able to tell that a therapeutic connection was being built if a second appointment was made at the end of the session.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I am a member of the local TV cable station. I have learned how to use the camera equipment by volunteering for local shoots and how to edit my own videos of lighthouses. I (try!) to go to the gym regularly and walk 30 minutes daily. I find meditation and yoga practices restorative and (try!) to do one or the other daily. Seeing family and friends in person or virtually is very important. I love word games but math games like Sudoko not so much.
