Get to know Ayala
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I could never imagine myself doing anything else. I have always felt it to be an immense privilege to be able to hold emotional space for others and to walk alongside them as they engage in their own journeys of exploration, self-discovery, and healing.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
How incredibly strong and resilient they are.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
My goal for the first session is to create an environment in which a client feels safe, heard, and understood. I want to learn what it is that will make the time we spend in subsequent sessions as valuable as it can possibly be, and work to demonstrate to my client that I am someone they can trust and rely upon for support throughout the course of our work together.
