Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Witnessing the transformative power of support and guidance in people's lives inspired me to pursue a career where I could contribute to their well-being. The desire to be a compassionate listener, offer practical solutions, and empower individuals on their unique journeys drove me to dedicate myself to the field.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are motivated to explore their thoughts and emotions, engage in the therapeutic process, and are open to personal growth. My approach is adaptable, making me effective with individuals facing diverse challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients who are enthusiastic about self-discovery, personal growth, and positive change. Individuals who are open to exploring their thoughts and emotions, and are motivated to actively engage in the therapeutic process, tend to thrive in our collaboration.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that seeking support is a courageous and empowering step. It's essential to recognize that everyone faces challenges, and reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your experiences, thoughts, and feelings are valid. I'm here to provide support, understanding, and tools to help you navigate your unique journey.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because this community aligns with my values and philosophy of providing accessible and inclusive mental health support. Being part of this community allows me to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of individuals and fosters a supportive environment for personal growth and healing.
What inspires you?
The endless potential for personal growth and the resilient spirit of individuals on their journey toward self-discovery and well-being deeply inspire me.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and non-judgmental space where we discuss their goals, concerns, and what they hope to achieve through therapy. We'll explore their unique experiences, and together, we'll establish a collaborative and tailored approach to support their journey toward positive change and well-being.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Together, we'll clarify their goals for therapy, explore relevant aspects of their personal history, and begin to develop a shared understanding of their unique needs. By the end of the first session, I hope for the individual to feel heard, understood, and hopeful about the collaborative journey we're starting to address their challenges and work toward their desired outcomes.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
My approach is collaborative, and together, we can explore their goals and navigate challenges.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my free time, I am a fine art photographer and enjoy capturing moments that tell unique stories and I prioritize quality time with my family. Additionally, I find relaxation and inspiration in getting lost in a good book.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My ability creatively problem solve, see the world through a slightly different lens, and find the meaning in experiences.
Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?
I worked with someone who felt lost and unsure about the meaning of their life. We had deep talks about what really mattered to them, what they enjoyed, and their past experiences. By encouraging them to think about their values and do things that truly mattered to them, they started to feel more purposeful. They reconnected with an old hobby, built stronger connections with people, and adjusted their lifestyle to match what was important to them. Seeing this person find meaning and joy again reminded me of how powerful it is for people to discover a sense of purpose in their lives through self-reflection and making intentional choices.
