Alex Hartnett (They/Them) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who completed their Master of Social Work (MSW) at Boston College. They have experience working in many settings and are passionate about empowering clients to build the lives they want to live. Alex has worked with many different needs and specializes in anxiety, coping skills, life transition, self-esteem, stress, and career issues and teaches clients mindfulness, self-compassion, to explore emotions, and to build insight.
Alex understands that each person is unique, so therapy should be just as personalized. Because of this, Alex uses multiple evidence-based approaches to best support each client, pulling from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing to ensure treatment is client-centered.
Alex works to create a relaxing, safe, supportive, and non-judgmental therapeutic space for clients to discuss their emotional challenges. If you are willing to do the work, Alex is here to provide you with support and tools. You don’t have to do it alone.
