About Susan
After many years in social work, I've come to believe that the most effective therapy doesn't come from a one-size-fits-all approach, but from meeting you exactly where you are. I believe in deeply individualized care, partnering with you to identify your goals and help you make rapid, meaningful progress. With a unique perspective shaped by my own journey through challenges and trauma, I offer an open-minded, non-judgmental space where you can feel truly understood and empowered to heal.
My approach is client-centered and eclectic—I tailor my methods to your unique needs rather than one fixed style. I draw on CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy and specialize in trauma-informed care and grief counseling. Whether processing trauma, facing a crisis, or adjusting to change, I'm here to create a space where you feel heard and empowered.
I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to act as a supportive guide on your journey toward healing. You've already shown immense strength by looking for support. Let's work together to build on that strength - I invite you to book your first appointment today and to begin the next chapter.

"With 30 years of experience, I've learned that healing is never 'cookie-cutter.' I bring a warm, compassionate, and uniquely personal perspective to therapy, honoring the individuality of your story with the wisdom of a clinician, wife, and mother. "
Get to know Susan
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a therapist in order to help others overcome their personal barriers to success to allow them to live their best lives. I want my clients to have joy and success, not feel as if they are just surviving.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients struggling with adjustment issues, whether it be due to depression, anxiety, a mental health or medical condition that is chronic. I work to help them successfully live life on life's terms and adjust well when needed.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
That anyone can have success in therapy and that you can seek therapy for any type of issue in your life that is interfering with your daily functioning. I want them to know that there is help and that it can be an individual experience.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
I want to identify the main issues interfering with their daily functioning and discuss what they feel are the primary, important issues they are facing in their lives. We will assess baseline concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma-responses and develop a few primary goals to get started.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have had life experiences with grief, addiction, trauma, divorce, blended families, and have raised five children.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I identify what they feel their primary difficulties are and there own ideas of solutions. I complete a thorough assessment with them to evaluate my own judgement of their situation. We then work together to formulate a plan with goals that integrate the two perspectives as client and provider.
