About Scott
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with over 25 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of life challenges. I provide general counseling services with a focus on depression, anxiety, trauma-related concerns, grief, stress management, anger management, self-esteem, men’s issues, parenting, marital counseling, and divorce-related concerns.
I earned my master’s degree in human services counseling from the University of New Orleans and hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southeastern Louisiana University. I use an eclectic, client-centered approach, meeting clients where they are and tailoring therapeutic techniques to support growth, self-awareness, and recovery.
Taking the first step toward counseling can feel overwhelming, whether you are new to therapy or returning after a past experience. You deserve a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. I offer a collaborative, engaging environment to help you move toward clarity, healing, and personal growth.

"From a holistic, nonjudgmental perspective, I provide individual and couples counseling, offering compassionate, personalized care through evidence-based techniques tailored to support self-growth and development."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
In undergraduate school, I felt a need for change in my curriculum. Mental health has always fascinated me and I wanted a sense of purpose in my career as well. It was at that time I volunteered at a behavioral health hospital with diverse populations and new then I was on the right course.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I have a very broad range of experience so this is a challenging question, however it's always best for the process when the client is motivated, open, and commtted. This includes following up on the various tools and resources in support of our sessions.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients were aware of the trust and non-judgement, which I provide that is so key to openness and healing during and after our time together.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
For the first session, there will be mostly information gathering so that I can create a plan to move toward a more working phase thereafter; however, I will leave you with helpful tools to support you through our next appointment.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
What best informs my practice as a therapist is the wide array of experiences and the diverisity of populations that I have known and worked with over the years. It is the ability to help others meet their goals and improve their lives that motivates me in my work with clients.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I meet the client where they are in that moment, assesssing the past and present in order to work toward future ambitions. The client drives and I steer the process as we focus on symptomolgy, its reduction, and instill healthy coping skills for now and moving forward.
