Patricia Carr is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 12 years of therapy experience. She often works with adults and adolescents who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, troubling relationship patterns, grief, and major life changes.
Patricia completed her Master's degree in Counseling at Louisiana Tech University. She uses eclectic techniques that include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and keeps all therapy person-centered.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Other fields of interest felt empty and lacked meaning compared with helping others with issues that are diminishing or interfering with their enjoyment of their lives
What types of clients do you work with best?
Both young and older adults experiencing depression, addictive issues, anxiety, working through trauma.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I look forward to working more with older adults, and I enjoy working with women
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That therapy works best when they Really emote, get rid of the walls and let it all out (and therapists love it!)
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I like the hybrid structure and my interviewers were great.
What inspires you?
The natural world/Nature, and ways that being in nature positively affect humans (and this can be measured!)
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A very good listener, following introduction and providing information about confidentiality, counseling techniques, and answering any questions the Client may have.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
A sense of hope that their problem or issue may actually improve, and that they may thrive and feel much better as a result.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I like it when they ask question!
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Spend time speaking with or being with my daughters

I have an intellectual curiosity.
