I’m Ne-Juan Shaul, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Counseling from Xavier University of Louisiana. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also exploring the ways culture, core beliefs, values, and motivation shape how we think, feel, and behave. I work with adults and teenagers experiencing anger, anxiety, depression, delusional disorder, and relationship conflicts.
I’m down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and nonjudgmental. I believe therapy should feel approachable and collaborative, so I strive to create a relaxed environment where you can be yourself while still doing meaningful work. I meet clients where they are, treat the whole person, and believe that people have the power and ability to make meaningful changes in their lives. At the same time, therapy is a partnership—you have to be willing to show up, come prepared to engage, and take an active role in the process. I won’t do the work for you, but I’ll be there to provide the tools, support, and encouragement along the way.
Deciding to start counseling can be one of the most challenging steps you take. Inviting a stranger into your personal life isn’t easy, and I can’t promise that therapy will always be comfortable or that you’ll get exactly where you initially imagined. What I can promise is that if you come willing to be honest, engaged, and ready to work, we’ll work together to help you move toward a place that feels healthier and more manageable than where you started.

"As someone who believes we are more alike than different, I strive to show unconditional positive regard for all the individuals I work with."
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
There is no magic pill or fix; therapy and healing are work, and the work is very intentional.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect me to do a lot of listening, gathering a lot of information, and encouraging the client to express themselves.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I do this by meeting each client where they are.
