About Ne-Juan
I'm Ne-Juan Shaul, a licensed professional counselor with a Master's in Counseling from Xavier University of Louisiana. When working with clients, I prefer to explore culture, core beliefs, values, and motivation through a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach. I help clients understand how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors stem from these elements. I'm accepting new patients and work with adults and teenagers struggling with anger, anxiety, depression, delusional disorder, and relationship conflicts. Clients who work with me need to own their sessions—come prepared with something to discuss and a willingness to work.
I'm down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and nonjudgmental. I simplify everything, and sessions are usually very relaxed. However, I don't do the work for clients. I value people having power and control over their lives. I meet people where they are, treat the whole person, and with the right resources and encouragement, everyone has the ability to improve.
Deciding to enter counseling can be one of the most challenging decisions you will ever make. Inviting a stranger into your personal life is not easy, and I cannot promise you that you will get to exactly where you want to be. However, I assure you that if you come willing to work, we will get you to a place better than where you are.

"As someone who believes we are more alike than different, I strive to show unconditional positive regard for all the individuals I work with."

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
There is no magic pill or fix; therapy and healing are work, and the work is very intentional.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect me to do a lot of listening, gathering a lot of information, and encouraging the client to express themselves.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I do this by meeting each client where they are.
