About Melanie
I am a licensed professional counselor and clinical director with extensive experience supporting adolescents, adults, and families navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I work with clients who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about their next steps, and who are seeking healing, clarity, and emotional stability. My goal is to provide a supportive, client-centered space where individuals can build coping skills, process challenges, and move toward a healthier, more balanced life.
I use a client-centered, trauma-informed approach integrating CBT, coping skills, and strengths-based techniques. I specialize in trauma, grief, and emotional regulation, helping clients build insight, develop healthy coping strategies, and feel empowered to create meaningful, lasting change.
You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone—I am here to support you with compassion, understanding, and practical tools for change. When you’re ready, I invite you to take that first step toward healing and becoming the best version of yourself.

"As someone who has experienced personal loss, including the passing of my father in April 2021 and my grandmother in July 2022, I bring a compassionate, authentic understanding of grief while creating a safe and supportive space for clients to heal and grow."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I have a deep passion for helping others heal, grow, and overcome life’s challenges. Through both my professional experiences and personal losses, I’ve seen how powerful support, understanding, and the right tools can be in restoring hope and resilience, and I am committed to walking alongside others on their journey to healing.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adolescents, adults, and families who are navigating trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, and life transitions, especially those who feel overwhelmed or stuck and are ready to gain insight, build coping skills, and move toward healing and emotional stability.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that healing is a process, not a quick fix—growth takes time, honesty, and consistency, but with the right support, real and lasting change is absolutely possible.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where we focus on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and identifying your goals for therapy. In the early stages, we’ll begin building trust, developing a plan tailored to your needs, and introducing practical coping strategies to help you start feeling supported and more in control.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is grounded in compassion, faith, and a deep belief in resilience. My personal experiences with loss, including the passing of my father and grandmother, have shaped my understanding of grief and healing, allowing me to show up with empathy, authenticity, and a commitment to helping others find strength, meaning, and hope through life’s challenges.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by taking time to understand each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals, then creating a personalized plan that fits their needs. I draw from approaches like CBT, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based techniques, adjusting interventions and pace to ensure clients feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
