Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I have seen firsthand how life's challenges, trauma, loss, and difficult circumstances can affect every part of a person's life. Those experiences inspired me to dedicate my career to helping others find hope, healing, and practical tools for change. I believe that everyone deserves a safe, supportive space where they feel heard, understood, and empowered. As a counselor, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people as they overcome obstacles, strengthen relationships, build resilience, and discover their own capacity for growth. Watching clients regain confidence, restore hope, and create meaningful change is what continues to inspire me every day.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are motivated to better understand themselves and create meaningful change in their lives. What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I believe therapy requires commitment, dedication, accountability, and bravery. Real healing doesn't happen overnight—it happens through a willingness to be honest, do the work, and remain open to growth, even when it's difficult. While I can't do the work for you, I will walk alongside you every step of the way, offering support, guidance, and encouragement as you build the life you want and deserve.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
During the early stages of therapy, we'll work together to identify meaningful goals, better understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies to help you move forward. Therapy is a collaborative process, so you can expect honesty, compassion, encouragement, and accountability. I believe meaningful change takes commitment, dedication, accountability, and bravery. While the work isn't always easy, you won't have to do it alone. My role is to provide guidance, support, and evidence-based tools to help you build resilience, strengthen your relationships, and create lasting, positive change at a pace that feels appropriate for you.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is grounded in the belief that every person has inherent worth, the capacity for growth, and the ability to create meaningful change. I value compassion, authenticity, accountability, and resilience, and I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. Throughout my career in behavioral health, I've had the privilege of working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds facing complex life challenges. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that healing is not about perfection—it's about developing insight, building healthy coping skills, and finding hope even during life's most difficult seasons. I consider it an honor to walk alongside my clients as they discover their strengths, overcome obstacles, and move toward lasting emotional wellness.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe there is no onesize-fits-all approach to therapy because every person brings a unique story, strengths, values, and life experiences into the counseling process. I begin by taking time to understand each client's goals, challenges, culture, support system, and readiness for change. From there, I develop an individualized treatment plan using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), PersonCentered Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and family systems interventions when appropriate. As therapy progresses, I continually evaluate what is working and adjust my approach to meet my client's evolving needs. My goal is to provide therapy that is collaborative, practical, and empowering—helping each client develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to create meaningful, lasting change.
