About Ebony

Ebony Allen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 17 years of experience working with children and teens in the mental health field. She received a Master's degree in Social Work, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and has many certifications in counseling, including being a Qualified School Social Worker in the state of Louisiana. Teens are her specialty and she truly enjoys this work.

Ebony’s counseling style is that of a warm and interactive partner. She believes in walking alongside each client to help them reach their full potential. Ebony treats everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. She doesn't judge and certainly doesn't believe in stigmatizing.

Get to know Ebony

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I decided to become a therapist because I enjoy having a hand in affecting the lives of other human beings. My calling is offering hope and guidance when people feel hopeless.


What types of clients do you work with best?

The ideal client for me, are those who are ready to work! Therapy and change takes energy and effort. I'm happy to serve those who recognize the need for the work and are open to receiving the support I have to offer.


What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I'm excited to work with clients who have a willingness to make self growth a priority.


What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish all clients knew that my office is a "judgment free" zone! I'm human. I mess up sometimes, I make mistakes just like all humans. I am committed to creating a safes pace for clients to be "themselves", because I will certainly not judge.


Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I've chosen to practice at Thriveworks because here, I'm able to focus on clients and providing care, without having to focus on all the overhead and other business operations.

Growth inspires me!


What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Clients can expect a "down to earth" conversation during the first session. We focus on getting to know each other.


What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

During the first session I usually complete a short assessment, but most of the session is basic conversation.


What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

Clients should know that my goal is to provide the same level of care I'd want for myself or my family.


What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love to craft!
