About Alaine
Hi, I'm Alaine Ryder, LPC. I specialize in helping teens, adults, and couples navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach combines warmth, compassion, and evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I believe therapy should feel like a supportive conversation—a two-sided dialogue with room for reflection, healing, and growth. Life can be tough! I have over 25 years of experience working in the mental health field with an authentic understanding of painful life circumstances.
My approach centers on a strength-based partnership designed to resolve ambivalence and empower growth, often utilizing Motivational Interviewing to reduce health-risk behaviors. Clients can expect a collaborative environment where we apply proactive problem-solving and help them utilize their own strengths to achieve positive, tangible progress.
No matter the weight you are carrying, you don't have to carry it alone. It takes lots of strength to reach out, and your feelings are completely valid. I'm here to walk alongside you in a safe, judgment-free space. Let's take that next step together toward healing—please schedule a time to connect when you're ready.

"Life can be tough! I have over 25 years of experience working in the mental health industry with an authentic understanding of painful life circumstances. I'm prepared to meet you right where you are to support, guide, and empower you to be the best version of yourself. "
Get to know Alaine
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
As a child, I was asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up"? Every single time, I answered, "I want to be anyone who can help everyone".
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with all populations; however, I feel that I work best with teens, adults, and seniors.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing isn’t about reaching a place where you never struggle again. It’s about building resilience and learning to face life’s challenges with more selfcompassion and confidence. You’ll still have hard days — but you’ll have the tools and insight to navigate them with greater ease. Healing is not a destination; it’s an ongoing journey of growth, grace, and rediscovery.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session will primarily focus on information-gathering, so it will be a little different than a typical therapy appointment. Along with asking what led you to therapy, we may discuss goals, and what you hope to achieve during your journey.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I often integrate personal values—such as compassion, authenticity, empowerment, and social justice—to guide my practice and foster a therapeutic alliance. These values, alongside personal experiences, act as a clinical compass, shaping empathetic, ethical, and client-centered care.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I offer flexible, evidence-based care by matching your needs, preferences, and clinical goals with the most beneficial, foundational approach to promote global wellness.
