Thomas Lims Owusu-Asante is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCSW, LCAC) who has over 13 years of experience working with adults who are struggling with anger, addiction, life transitions, family issues, anxiety, depression, stress, and more.
Thomas holds a Master's degree in Social Work, a Master's degree Addiction Counseling degree, and a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. With extensive global travel experience including 15 countries, and exposure to multiple cultures, Thomas is well-versed in the peculiarities of families’ cultural, traditional, and religious background. He utilizes multiple therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), solutions-focused therapy (SFT), narrative therapy (NT), and Alderian therapy.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I became a counselor because l also received help from a counselor who helped me to navigate the challenges of life.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all client will know that they can overcome their life challenges, if they choose to seek help.
What inspires you?
Seeing clients recover from their life challenges has been my most inspiring experience.

Client will see an understanding, loving and caring personality in their first encounter with me.

Healthy therapeutic alliance will be formed during the first session.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?
