About Provider

About Kavita

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 7years of experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive-compulsive concerns, attention-deficit and hyperactivity challenges, grief, and major life transitions. I specialize in helping clients seek clarity, emotional relief, and practical tools for meaningful change. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your needs so you feel supported every step of the way.

I earned my master’s degree in social work from Indiana University. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and other evidence-based practices to help clients build coping skills, process difficult experiences, and strengthen emotional resilience.

I am here to meet you with empathy, curiosity, and respect for your story. If you are ready to take the next step toward healing, I would be honored to support you. When you feel ready, I welcome you to reach out and begin this process at your own pace.

Get to know Kavita

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I chose to become a therapist because I believe deeply in people’s ability to grow and make real change. Being able to empower clients and support them through that process is what keeps me motivated and grounded in this work.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I connect well with clients who are open to exploring their thoughts and patterns, want to build practical coping skills, and are motivated to create lasting change. I often work with individuals managing anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related challenges.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I want clients to know that clarity and self-empowerment are possible. By practicing mindfulness and taking intentional steps, you can stay present with your experiences, uncover your strengths, and create meaningful change in your life.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In your first session, we’ll review what brings you in, talk through your history, and set initial goals. In the early stages of therapy, we’ll deepen that understanding, introduce helpful strategies, and work together to move toward the changes you want to make.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice is shaped by the value of being present, intentional, and compassionate. I believe that clarity and growth come from mindful exploration and small, purposeful actions, and I strive to help clients uncover their strengths through this process.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I begin by identifying each client’s stage of change and then collaborating on priorities that match their current abilities and readiness. I consistently gauge how open they feel to exploring different topics and adapt the pace and techniques as their needs evolve.
