Hi! My name is Emily Brault. I’m an LCSW. I have experience working with clients of all ages from adolescence to adulthood. I specialize in working with people experiencing trauma, life stress, substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, and depressive disorders.
I enjoy seeing the progress, including inevitable setbacks along the way of the therapeutic process. Meeting people where they are in their lives is essential in making progress with their goals. I use a person-centered approach and collaboration with every client I have the pleasure of working with.
I know how scary it can be to take that first step in doing the important work on yourself. Taking that first step can sometimes be one of the hardest parts of the process. I’m here to walk alongside you in your journey of healing and growth.

"As someone who has experienced personal challenges related to complications after birth, I am equipped to meet you where you are on your own journey through trauma and healing."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I’ve always had a passion for wanting to help others overcome adversity in their lives.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Contemplative, motivated, unsure about the therapeutic process, willing to engage.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
The healing process is not linear. There are days where you will feel like “I got this” and days where you might be questioning why it’s a good idea to put in work for yourself but either way, know that you deserve to be healed.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
An easy going environment where the clients needs and goals come first. We will be treatment planning to explore what clients hope to gain from the therapeutic process.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Honesty, integrity, and respect are values I practice as a therapist.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I take a personcentered approach to therapy, meaning each individual is treated differently based on their individualized needs and goals.
