Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a therapist in order to continue growing as a person so that I can be supportive and helpful to others during different seasons of their lives.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are motivated to learn, grow, and willing to adapt in order to see change. I also work best with those who are willing to be honest, despite how difficult it may be.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
We don't get to choose the things that happen to us in life. However, we have control over our response to these situations. Being vulnerable with yourself welcomes growth and growth is how we mold into the best versions of ourselves. You are capable of being empowered to make change in your life and I am here to help guide you through that!
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to work at Thriveworks in order to grow as a clinician. I firmly believe that even as therapists, we have things we can learn from our clients and lived experiences are what shape our ability to help others and make impactful change.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by building connections with others.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
During the first session you can expect to be greeted with warmth and compassion. We will spend time getting to know one another and discover a therapeutic approach unique to you and your situation.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I strive to build rapport and develop an understanding of the concerns or struggles that have brought you in. I hope to establish a safe and welcoming space that offers comfort in sharing. We will complete a treatment plan to drive the path of your therapeutic experience and discuss any questions you may have about therapy.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am open-minded and empathetic to any struggle you may be going through.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My role as a mother to my son and daughter.
