Get to know Valentina

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I believe in the potential for everyone to achieve their best selves in life and am a dedicated in helping others on this journey. I have always been told how empathic and what a supportive listener i was and how comfortable people are in sharing their life narratives with me. I always had this innate feeling (at a very early age)to help better peoples lives and my compassionate , empathic and authentic nature are the very attributes that have made me a even better therapist.

What types of clients do you work with best?

Young adults , adults and older adults.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am excited to work with people with varied issues and i have most experience in trauma based care and mood disturbances.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

My commitment to my clients success

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I was especially impressed with Thriveworks platforms offered throughout most of the states and how accessible these services are for people in need. I love how thriveworks provides options for in person therapy as well for those that prefer in person--accessible mental health care for all. I also am quite impressed with their collaborative model which combines psychiatry as well.

What inspires you?

What inspires me in life is the beauty of nature and the pursuit of continuously gaining knowledge on this path of life.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Gathering psychosocial information from client so as to get a better understanding of clients history , developing treatment goals and also exploring with client their own perceptions of how they would know they were progressing in therapy. Have client give some examples --this requires some self reflection.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

Elicit psychosocial information from client so i can get to know YOU, hoping to set up some therapy goals going forward and also derive from client what their expectations are in therapy

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I do not give number out

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Walk my dog, hiking, tai chi, being outdoors in nature, gardening, bird watching

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

My authenticity, determination and strength and strong ethics
