About Provider

About Taylor

Hi, I'm Taylor Barton, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with nearly two decades of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in schools, hospitals, and private practice. While I work with a variety of concerns, I especially enjoy helping women navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, motherhood, life transitions, stress, and the pressures of balancing life's many responsibilities. Together, we'll work toward helping you feel more confident, connected, and equipped to move forward.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based strategies to help clients better understand themselves, develop practical coping skills, and create lasting, meaningful change.

Seeking support takes courage, and you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow. I look forward to helping you take the next step toward the life you want to create.

Get to know Taylor

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I've always been drawn to understanding people and helping them navigate life's challenges. Becoming a therapist allowed me to combine that passion with practical tools that help people build resilience, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. It's incredibly rewarding to watch clients discover strengths they didn't realize they had and begin living with greater confidence and purpose.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work well with adults, adolescents, and families, but I especially enjoy working with women who are managing anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, motherhood, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, or feelings of overwhelm. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, depression, grief, and life changes.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

Every person comes to therapy with different experiences, strengths, and goals. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I take time to understand what's most important to each client and develop a treatment plan that fits their personality, circumstances, and pace. Therapy should feel collaborative, practical, and meaningful to you.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. I'll ask questions about what brought you to therapy, your history, your strengths, and what you hope to accomplish. Together we'll begin identifying goals and creating a plan that feels comfortable and manageable. My hope is that you'll leave feeling heard, understood, and optimistic about the work we'll do together.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Sometimes the bravest step is asking for support before things become overwhelming. Growth isn't about becoming a different person. It's about gaining insight, building healthier patterns, and learning to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I believe every person deserves to feel heard without judgment. My work is grounded in empathy, authenticity, curiosity, and respect for each client's unique story. I value building genuine therapeutic relationships where clients feel safe enough to be honest, challenge themselves, celebrate progress, and recognize their own resilience.
