About Provider

About Tammi C

I am a dedicated licensed clinical social worker/therapist who truly believes in offering quality mental health support. I typically work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief, and stress management, and I also enjoy working with couples. The clients I support are seeking coping skills and tools to guide them through their mental health challenges, as well as a safe space where they can learn the root of their symptoms and ways to address them.

My approach is gentle and caring, using CBT, narrative therapy, and trauma-focused solutions to help guide my clients to self-efficacy. I like to infuse journaling, meditation, and workbooks/resources to support my clients. I also have a 40-hour Domestic Violence Certificate and use Gottman training for couples.

As you are on your journey, you deserve support and a safe space to help you face your mental health challenges. Life can become better once you learn the coping skills, tools, and support systems to help you navigate through challenging times. Take the next step and schedule an appointment with me. We can take this journey together. You are not alone.

"As one who can identify with my own personal trauma, I am here to offer support. I know that life can get tough. I have experience working with clients that have dealt with mental health disorders, substance abuse, domestic violence, grief and anger management. I offer CBT therapy, trauma informed therapy and use tools such as meditation, journaling and play therapy as well as others. With support, we can begin to feel better one day at a time. "

Get to know Tammi C

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

After years in corporate, I knew I was led to become a social worker/therapist. I realized the importance of taking care of your mental health from my own personal experiences in my life. I am so grateful to be able to be of service to my clients.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with the following clients: Young adults, women and men of all backgrounds and ethnicities.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish that all clients knew that therapy is a journey and it is not to be rushed. There is no shame in taking care of your mental health. We all deserve support with our mind, body and soul.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

During the first session, we will discuss the challenges and what the client hopes to achieve. We will discuss struggles, stressors and personal history. This time is to build rapport, trust and for the client to feel comfortable. This is a safe space and nonjudgmental. This will lead to goal setting and discussing the framework around the sessions.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My own personal experiences with grief and health challenges help inform my values as a clinician. I have been supported by therapists through my mental health challenges, and it has given me the tools that I have to use to daily in my own personal journey.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I listen to each client intently and adjust communication styles to match the client, creating a comfortable environment, and creating personalized, achievable goals. Each client will need its own set of tools, support and individualized approaches.
