About Shana
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 2 years of experience supporting adults and college students as they navigate life’s challenges. My background includes work in private practice, medical settings, and higher education, where I have provided therapy, crisis support, case management, and teaching services. I help clients work through concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, divorce, spirituality, identity development, and adjustment issues. I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative space where you can explore your emotions, feel understood, and begin building meaningful change.
I earned my master’s degree in counseling from Northern Illinois University. I draw from empowerment practices, solution-focused strategies, and trauma-informed, mindfulness-based approaches to support whole-person wellness.
I believe everyone is working toward purpose, and during life’s hardest moments, we all deserve compassion and care. You have the power to choose how you show up in the world, and I am honored to support you as you define what healing looks like for you. I look forward to helping you align your mind, body, and spirit as we navigate this journey together.

"As a Black woman, I have an authentic understanding of how trauma and life experiences can shape our lives as we work to build skills to reshape our futures."
Get to know Shana
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I was afraid to seek help for myself because no one looked like and carried my beliefs. I wanted to be the intermediary to helping populations who could not see themselves in the counseling space feel more comfortable about opening themselves to help because they feel othered.
What types of clients do you work best with?
First time clients, middle age age, and women.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish clients knew that sometimes you feel worse before you feel better in the healing process.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect to laugh.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Compassion, spirituality, and trauma.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I meet the client where they are each and every session. Some days are harder than others. We keep this in mind as we enter and exit in our work together.
