About Shah

Dr. Shah Hasan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Medical Family Therapist with extensive experience helping individuals and families navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, health concerns, and complex family dynamics. He earned his Master of Arts in Human Development Counseling, specializing in marriage and family therapy, from the University of Illinois, and completed his doctoral training in Medical Family Therapy at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

In his clinical work, Dr. Hasan uses a family systems perspective to better understand how family relationships shape each client’s worldview, thoughts, and behaviors. He tailors his approach to the unique needs of each client, integrating both professional training and lived experience to support relational, attachment-based, and holistic healing.

His work is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based techniques. Dr. Hasan prioritizes a flexible and creative therapeutic process that evolves alongside his clients’ needs.

He focuses on strengthening communication skills, encouraging self-acceptance, setting healthy boundaries, and improving emotional regulation. When appropriate, he incorporates humor into sessions and fosters a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can build self-love and deepen their connections with themselves and others.
