About Rashae
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 7 years of experience providing therapy to adults and adolescents. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma recovery, helping clients navigate life’s challenges with compassion and understanding. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where clients can explore emotions, rediscover strengths, and begin building lasting emotional wellness.
I earned my Master’s in Child and Family Social Work from the University of Illinois. My therapeutic approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, strengths-based strategies, and trauma-informed care to help clients build resilience, self-awareness, and meaningful change in their lives.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, but it’s an act of courage and self-care. Together, we’ll work toward creating balance, healing, and growth. My goal is to help you feel seen, understood, and empowered to live with confidence and emotional clarity.

"As an African American woman from Chicago, I understand how one can be impacted by their surroundings and how gaining new experiences can teach one how to maneuver through life's challenges."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a therapist because I want to symbol of hope and an advocate for change. I want to show individuals that although life has its hardships, you can overcome.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients ages 12-35 of all genders and races.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish clients knew that change/growth is not linear. There will be successes and challenges. But as long as you are committed to doing the work, it makes a difference.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
During the first sessions clients can expect rapport building by general conversation and noninvasive questioning. In the early stages of therapy clients can expect to create a treatment plan that fits their individual needs.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Being an African American female growing up in the inner city of Chicago has informed my practice as therapist. Also being a mother of 2 beautiful daughter, experiencing infertility/health challenges, and postpartum depression myself has shaped why and how I practice.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy to meet each client's unique needs by allowing them the autonomy to decide how they want treatment to proceed. I also meet clients where they are and allow them time and space to adjust to the therapeutic treatments.
