About Ralph
Ralph Pollaro is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 17 years of experience. He specializes in working with adolescents and adults with mental health issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, relationship issues, effective communication, and existential processing. With Ralph, clients will learn steps to manage their mental health needs and increase adaptive behaviors. They will examine their progress and discern what goals they would like to achieve.
Ralph has a Master of Arts in Counseling from Saint Xavier University Chicago. He uses cognitive behavioral, person-centered, existential, and Adlerian therapies to assist clients in understanding their behaviors and how they can change to be their best selves. Clients will explore the whole self: body, mind, and emotional well-being.
Quality of care is the basis for successful healing. Using several theoretical systems, Ralph will help you problem-solve issues and work through past experiences. Ralph is looking forward to empowering you to manage life’s challenges!

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I wanted to help individuals with mental health issues. I believe this is a calling for me and I am very happy to be doing what I love to do.
What types of clients do you work with best?
adolescents, adults and older adults.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Client who suffer with anxiety, stress, depression, bipolar disorder, those who are grieving and asking basic existential questions.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Healing begins when the self takes courage

What inspires you?
My faith in God, watching individuals grow and change for the better
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Warm greeting, empathy and a sense of feeling comfortable. This will enable clients to speak freely and get the quality of care they deserve.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
A connection. Hopefully the client and clinician will be able to form a union for treatment.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am a very good listener and am interested in providing the best care possible.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
play cards, cook, watch television, walking, going to the casino when money is available
