About Keyira
Hi, I'm Keyira, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a background in clinical care and community-based research. I'm passionate about helping clients make sense of the deeply human process of healing and change. I support individuals feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected due to trauma, life transitions, or relationship stress. Together, we explore your inner world, understand patterns, and build practical tools for regulation, boundaries, and self-trust. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and grounded in ACT, CBT, and EMDR-informed care, helping you move forward with clarity, compassion, and intention.
I help clients build emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, and shift unhelpful patterns. You can expect a supportive space with practical tools to strengthen boundaries, process experiences, and move forward with clarity and self-trust. Together, we cultivate mindfulness, psychological flexibility, and lasting internal and external resources.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of where to begin, you're not alone. Change can feel heavy, but you don't have to navigate it by yourself. If you're open to exploring your experiences with curiosity and compassion, you're already taking a meaningful step. When you're ready, I welcome you to begin this process with me.

"As a therapist and human navigating my own growth, I meet you with curiosity, honesty, and care as we untangle what’s been heavy and reconnect you to what matters most by slowing down, understanding your patterns, and building a life that feels more aligned, not just manageable. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people and supporting them through the very human experiences of pain, growth, and change. My interest was first sparked by a curiosity about human behavior, shaped by early exposure to criminal psychology shows, and deepened by witnessing emotional challenges within my own low-income community. My background in community-based research further expanded my understanding of how environment, relationships, and systemic factors impact mental health, especially for marginalized communities. I wanted to create a space where people feel seen, understood, and supported while learning to make sense of their experiences and move toward healing with clarity and self-trust. I recognized this as essential for community health.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are ready for change or open to exploring themselves more deeply. Many feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected and want to better understand their emotions, patterns, and relationships. They are often seeking clarity, balance, and practical tools, and are willing to engage with curiosity, reflection, and growth.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that healing is not a quick fix, but a lifestyle and a way of relating to yourself and the world. Mental wellness should be accessible to everyone, and as you build awareness and psychological flexibility, you’re not only supporting your own growth but contributing to the wellbeing of those around you. The goal is to develop skills and selftrust that stay with you, develop a capacity that can’t be taken away and can always be shared.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, we’ll spend some time understanding what brings you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’re hoping for. While I do complete necessary documentation, my focus is on creating a comfortable, collaborative space where you feel seen and understood. Early on, we’ll begin exploring your goals, identifying patterns, and gently building a plan for the life you want. You can expect a balance of reflection and experiential work, along with encouragement to practice self-compassion and commit to your wellbeing and healing.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is grounded in a deep respect for the human capacity to grow, heal, and change. My background in community-based research and work with marginalized communities shaped my understanding of how environment, relationships, and systemic factors impact mental health. I value compassion, curiosity, and psychological flexibility, and believe healing is a lifelong, accessible process. I approach therapy as a collaborative space where clients can build self-awareness, develop lasting tools, and reconnect with themselves in a way that can be sustained and shared beyond therapy.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by taking time to understand each client’s story, strengths, goals, and what feels most supportive for them. I draw from ACT, CBT, DBT and EMDRinformed care, adjusting the pace and approach based on your needs and readiness. Together, we co-create a flexible plan that balances insight, practical tools, and experiential work so therapy feels relevant, collaborative, and aligned with your growth.
