Why did you decide to become a counselor?

Everyone has a life story, and I love to listen and learn about people. I knew I wanted to be a counselor since high school.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I like people who are honest and forthcoming. I believe it is vital to establish honesty and trust in counseling relationships. I also think everyone needs and wants different things, so you should choose a therapist that meets your own personal needs.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I enjoy people of all ages and backgrounds as it helps me learn and grow too.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Everyone could benefit from therapy at various time in their lives. Therapy training typically involves being a part of individual and group therapy yourself to have this experience, and I think it is essential to know what it feels like to be the client.

I wanted to be able to meet with clients in person or online, whichever works best for you. I also appreciate the mission and work of Thriveworks as an established and long term business.

What inspires you?

Nature and strong, positive communities.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Time to get to know one another, an overview of how sessions will work, discussion of problems, questions, and concerns and next steps of the process.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want people to feel that they are being heard and that things can and will improve.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

I appreciate laughter and humor as stress relief.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Reading, playing cards and board games, painting, and cooking/baking.
