About Angel
Angel Hughes is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 10 years of experience supporting individuals and families working through anxiety, depression, PTSD, adjustment disorders, grief, and communication challenges. She began her journey in a therapeutic day school, where she discovered a passion for providing community mental health services. Over the past 5 years, Angel has served as a residential therapist, community outreach worker, and outpatient behavioral health provider in clinical settings.
Angel earned her Master’s in Community Mental Health from Concordia University. She uses mindfulness and motivational interviewing to support adults aged 18+. Angel draws from person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused brief therapy techniques. She is also highly knowledgeable in family systems therapy.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I find it a great privilege to be a licensed healer of the professional arts. I am excited to meet you and collaborate to create the treatment the best serves the needs you have at this time.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I have a wide range of experience, but I do my best work with 14 and up.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I'm excited to work with anyone that is ready to collaborate on a treatment plan for their healing journey.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish each client knew that they have all of the things they need inside of them to be successful. But most importantly, that they are important and their feelings are valid.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In a first session with me, expect to get a feel of my approach and to share with me your goals and service needs. Together we collaborate and assess to create a treatment plan.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, I hope that the client understands their informed consent and be able to share their desired outcome for therapy.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am very committed to my clients. And I am also very open to your feedback.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy singing, dancing, and some art.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My faith in Jesus is the most important thing about me.
