Peggy Hurst is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 20 years of experience as a School Counselor and several years in private practice. She enjoys working with teenagers as well as adult individuals and couples to improve self-growth, relationships, and positive movement toward life goals. Areas of specialization include treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, parenting issues, special needs children, and career identity. Peggy holds a Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of Georgia and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University.

As a Christian counselor, spiritual integration is infused in Peggy’s therapy style, along with mindfulness, gratitude, and resources for healthy living. Cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, EMDR, emotional freedom techniques, motivational interviewing, and acceptance & commitment therapy are a few of her favorite interventions.

Peggy’s passion has always been to help others. She believes that people are body, soul (mind/emotions), and spirit, each aspect part of the larger whole. Helping clients set treatment goals and then make progress towards those goals is Peggy’s forte. Her primary focus is to help people overcome internal barriers to growth and empower them to pursue goals.
