About Provider

About Macy

I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Georgia State University (2014) and a Master of Social Work from University of Alabama (2016), licensed since 2021. I work with children, students, adults, and couples navigating emotional, relational, and life challenges. With children, I focus on emotional awareness and healthy coping skills. With students and young adults, I address stress, life transitions, and relationship concerns. I support adults who feel overwhelmed or unsure of their next steps, as well as couples working to improve communication, rebuild trust, and navigate conflict.

My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative—therapy should feel like a safe space where you can show up as you are. I blend CBT and DBT with a relational, strengths-based perspective. With children, I use creative, play-based techniques; with teens, adults, and couples, I focus on building insight, improving communication, and practical tools.

Reaching out can feel like a big step, and it's OK if you're not sure where to start. You don't have to have everything figured out—just a willingness to show up is enough. Whatever you're carrying, there is space for it here. If you're ready to work toward growth, healing, or clarity, I'd be honored to be part of that. Feel free to schedule an appointment.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to helping people feel seen, understood, and supported through the moments in life that feel overwhelming or uncertain. I believe that when people are given a safe space to explore their thoughts and emotions without judgment, real change that cascades into everything we do finally becomes possible.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with children, teens, young adults, adults, and couples who are navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, family stress, or simply feeling “stuck” and unsure of their next steps. Many of the clients I work with are seeking clarity, healthier coping tools, stronger communication skills, and a deeper understanding of themselves.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

One thing I wish all clients knew is that therapy is not about being “fixed”—it’s about being understood, supported, and given tools to better navigate life. Healing is not linear, and progress often comes in small, meaningful steps that build over time.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we focus on getting to know each other, discussing current concerns, and identifying goals for therapy. Early sessions are about building trust, understanding your story, and beginning to identify patterns, strengths, and areas you want to work on. There is no pressure to share everything at once—therapy unfolds at your pace.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. I draw from evidence-based practices while also staying flexible and responsive to each person’s unique needs, personality, and goals. I believe therapy should feel tailored, not one-size-fits-all, and I adjust my style to meet clients where they are—whether that means providing structure, gentle guidance, practical skills, or deeper emotional processing.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

My work is also shaped by my belief in resilience: people are often doing the best they can with what they’ve been given, and with the right support, meaningful growth and change are absolutely possible.
