About Lydia
I am Dr. B, and I'm excited to work with you! I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 7+ years of experience supporting individuals through challenges such as trauma, grief, marital conflict, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I work with diverse client backgrounds and strive to offer a calm, grounded, and authentic space for healing. My approach is laid-back and supportive, helping clients feel safe enough to be open, reflective, and engaged in their pursuit of emotional well-being.
I earned my master’s degree and doctorate in professional counseling from Amridge University. My background includes working with individuals navigating complex emotional experiences and life transitions. I draw from evidence-based, person-centered approaches to help clients deepen self-understanding and build meaningful coping skills.
I want you to feel more grounded and less alone each time you leave our sessions. You deserve support, understanding, and a space where your emotions are honored. When you’re ready, I invite you to schedule an appointment. You will be welcomed with respect, compassion, and a calm environment to explore what you need for your well-being.

"I approach therapy as a fellow human who believes in the power of compassion, curiosity, and steady support, and I strive to help clients tap into their inner strength and discover their capacity for well-being."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I’m moved by the courage people show. Being invited into someone’s world — their hopes, fears, history, and resilience — with a deep sense of responsibility and respect. I believe healing happens in connection, and I’m honored to offer a space where people can feel safe, understood, and supported as they grow.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are ready for a collaborative, compassionate, and grounded therapeutic relationship — people who are willing to explore their inner world with honesty and curiosity.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that healing isn’t linear and that growth occurs subtly in shifts, rather than in dramatic breakthroughs. Sometimes, feelings of setbacks are part of the process, not a sign of failure.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, you can expect a calm, welcoming space that feels comfortable for you. We’ll start by talking about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to understand or change, and any concerns you have about the process. Without any pressure to share everything right away, you will be provided space to decide what feels safe to open up about.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My work is guided by a blend of lived experience, core values, and the lessons I’ve learned from sitting with many different stories over the years. While not centering my own history in the therapy room, I’m shaped by experiences in my life and therapy experiences that taught me the importance of compassion, clarity, and steadiness during difficult times.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by starting with you — your pace, your personality, your goals, and the way you naturally make sense of the world. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach, so I pay close attention to what feels supportive, what feels overwhelming, and what truly resonates with me. Setting goals together, I adjust my style and structure to fit your comfort level. I check in regularly, honoring your pace and lived experiences to guide the approach.
