Get to know Jessalyn

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I became a counselor to help people solve everyday problems, overcome obstacles, and heal wounds that they have suffered in their lives.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with clients who are willing to trust and believe in the process of counseling and are willing to put in the difficult emotional work necessary.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am excited to work with all clients!

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I chose to work at Thriveworks so that I could reach as many people in need as possible. Through telehealth with Thriveworks, I not only help those in my hometown, but across the entire state of Georgia.

What inspires you?

I'm honestly inspired by every client I meet! Everyone has a unique situation and I enjoy meeting new clients and meeting their needs and challenges.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

During the first session, we will go through an Intake questionnaire in order to gather information about the client(s) in order to determine how we will move forward in therapy.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I hope to make all clients feel comfortable and safe and determine a plan for therapy.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids. I love to spend time outdoors, walk my dogs, as well as play the cello in my local symphony orchestra.

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I am determined and consistent!
