About Jacqueline
I am Jacqueline Roberts, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 3 years of experience supporting adults through challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, women’s issues, life transitions, relationship concerns, and self-esteem struggles. I provide therapy for clients ages 18–64 and create a safe, collaborative space where you can explore your concerns with acceptance and without judgment. My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered on your healing journey.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. I draw on approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, emotionally focused individual therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, while incorporating mind-body techniques.
I understand how heavy life’s pressures can feel, and I believe that therapy can provide relief and clarity. My approach is collaborative and supportive, offering space to identify root causes, build coping skills, and move toward growth with confidence. I am committed to walking alongside you as you take meaningful steps toward healing.

"As an agent of change, I use a sincere yet empowering approach to help people heal and embark on the journey of self-discovery implementing multicultural competence and evidence-based techniques."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a counselor because I’ve always been passionate about walking alongside people during some of their most difficult seasons. Growing up, I witnessed how unresolved trauma and unspoken pain can impact individuals and families for generations. This inspired me to dedicate my career to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where people can process their experiences, discover their inner strength, and find hope for healing. My goal is to not only help clients manage symptoms but to support them in creating lasting change and a life that feels meaningful and authentic to them.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are honest and have a genuine desire to do the work it takes to heal and achieve wellness.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
As a counselor who specializes in trauma, anxiety, and depression, I am excited to work with clients who experience these mental conditions and support them in restoring meaningful connections with themselves and others.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is a journey, not a destination. It takes time and effort to achieve their therapeutic goals. You have to be consistent, transparent and honest to see the transformation they hope to achieve.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because of their strong commitment to accessibility and client-centered care. I value that Thriveworks provides a supportive environment for both clients and clinicians, with resources and tools that allow me to focus on what matters most—helping clients heal and grow.
What inspires you?
What inspires me most as a counselor is witnessing the resilience of the human spirit. It’s incredibly meaningful to walk alongside clients as they confront their pain, process trauma, and discover their own strength. I’m inspired by those pivotal moments when a client begins to see their worth, heal old wounds, and move toward living a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. Knowing that I can play a role in creating a safe, supportive space for that transformation fuels my passion for this work every single day.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In their first session with me, clients can expect to experience a safe space where they are heard. I work to understand their narrative and presenting concerns and establish a therapeutic alliance. At the end of the session, I inform clients that I will provide an effective action plan to help them achieve their therapeutic goals.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where the client feels truly seen and heard. I focus on building trust and exploring what brought them to therapy, while learning about their history and current concerns. Together, we’ll begin identifying their goals and what healing might look like for them. I also take time to explain the therapeutic process, answer questions, and provide tools for immediate relief if needed. By the end of the session, I want the client to feel a sense of hope and clarity about the next steps in their journey toward growth and healing.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I strive to meet my client where they are as well as create a nonjudgmental and safe environment where my clients can heal and be their authentic selves.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my free time, I love spending time with my family and grandchildren, which brings me so much joy. I also enjoy reading, exploring new places, and finding quiet moments for reflection and self-care. Staying active in nature, whether it’s walking or simply being outdoors, helps me recharge so I can bring my best self to my clients.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is my deep sense of resilience and faith. No matter what challenges I’ve faced in life, I’ve always tried to approach them with hope and determination. This strength not only shapes how I show up for my family and friends but also how I live with gratitude and purpose every day.
Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?
I have been blessed to have many success stories with clients. One particular experience that I recall is when I helped a client recover from depression and regain a positive outlook on life, and stabilize their emotions. When I first started working with this client, they never smiled, never laughed, had a negative perspective and was very dysregulated. After two years of working with this client and using mind and body intervention techniques, I was able to support the client in rewiring and altering their brain. As a result of implementing these techniques, the client is now thriving, regulated, and balanced. Witnessing this transformation was a rewarding experience.
