About Heather
I am a licensed master social worker (LMSW) with 16 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults navigating emotional and behavioral challenges. I specialize in helping clients work through trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and family or social stressors. Many of the individuals and families I work with are seeking support as they face difficult life experiences, relationship challenges, or emotional hurdles, and I am passionate about helping them move toward healing and personal growth.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from the University of Georgia and my Bachelor of Science in psychology. My therapeutic approach is client-centered and often incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed practices to help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and work toward their goals.
I strive to create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing their stories. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate your journey alone. I look forward to working with you and supporting you as you move toward greater balance, healing, and well-being.

"As one who has experienced personal trauma and loss, I have a genuine understanding of how we may be impacted by various traumas, which helps me empower others through their journey."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a therapist to help others the way I have been helped. I have always been deeply feeling, empathetic, and drawn to helping others. Becoming a therapist was always my calling, and I don't take for granted the privilege it is to help others.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Individuals, adolescents, families and adults.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that it is STRONG to go to therapy and take care of your mental health. Everyone struggles at some point and making the decision to take part in the healing process is something to be proud of.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the early stages of therapy with me you should expect the focus to be on the therapeutic relationship, and you getting comfortable in the therapeutic setting.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My personal values of belonging, integrity, freedom (autonomy in life choices), compassion and growth inform my practice as a therapist.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I focus on each individual client and their needs, rather than aligning with a specific therapeutic approach. The flexibility and compassion I meet each client with is how I meet each client's unique needs.
