Woody wants to help you with identifying goals, and confronting barriers. He would like to walk alongside you on your path of growth, and assist you with the shadows and uncertainty that come with self-exploration. Woody also wants you to know that there is nothing wrong with having fun along the way.

"You already have what it takes to be the you that you want to be. I want to help you find that person."

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
In 10th grade I learned about the field of psychology. I have been hooked ever since. When I began to study the counseling side of things, I felt an incredible pull to further study the ways our minds work. Although I attempted physics, I learned that the stuff of the universe is less important than the interpreter of the universe.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I really like working with clients who want to work on their own development. However, my most common clients are clients seeking self-growth, and clients who have anxiety and depression.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Clients who want to learn more about themselves and are open to find the changes within.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Therapy is about building a relationship of respect and regard. Once we establish a relationship of trust, we can work on anything.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks has the kind of support network that I believe therapists need to attune themselves to clients. I have never felt as respected as a therapist as I do at Thriveworks.
What inspires you?
Ideas. New creative ideas that force us to challenge our perceptions of ourselves and the world we live in.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A friendly discussion about the issues that are important to you, and establishment of the boundaries of our new relationship.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want my clients to feel at ease and to feel that I can help them with their challenges. Even if I don't have the answers, and I often don't, I am willing to work with them to find them.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I play board games, spend time with my family, and hike or walk as often as time will allow.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am passionate and creative. I like to create things, just for the fun of creating them.
