About Aleeah
Have you ever felt like you're carrying so much for others while quietly wondering when there will be space for you? If you've been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself, you're not alone. I work with individuals and couples who are ready to better understand their experiences, strengthen their relationships, and create meaningful change.
I work with women, girls, and feminine-presenting individuals navigating self-esteem and people-pleasing, as well as men exploring emotions. I draw from Attachment Theory, CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused techniques. I've worked across medical, community, and private practice settings. I create affirming space for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.
More than anything, I want you to graduate therapy knowing your worth, how to collaborate, speak your truth wisely, and appropriately regulate your emotions. You don't have to navigate this alone. We can take it one step at a time, together.

"As a person who feels emotions deeply, going through life can be challenging especially if you don't have the right resources and support in your corner. Let me help you establish your internal and external resources so you can live life emotionally fulfilled."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a therapist because of my experience of ambiguous grief. It is the type of grief that does not require someone to be deceased. It involves mourning someone you may never get that version of them again. Additionally, I know my family-of-origin informed a lot of who I am and who I choose not to be. I wanted to find a niche that finds the family system/relationships important enough to integrate into the therapy process. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I want to help individuals, families and couples be preventive of estranged, distant or enmeshed relationships and minimize the impact of mood dysregulation (e.g. anxiety, depression, etc) to have a more fulfilled life. Ultimately, building a stronger community so that the world we live in does not feel as dim.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Young adults, families, and couples are my pride and joy. I find their life transitions the most rewarding to help with because if we handle external stressors, it greatly alleviates mood disorders and makes neurodiversity less difficult to navigate. All that is left is to learn ones self, align emotions with behavior appropriately, deepening important relationships, maintaining helpful systems while avoiding masking all together.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Your choices or decisions make a difference. Often people view therapy, mental health, or the healing process as silly. Not a big deal, taboo, and with shame. Often mental health can be met with ridicule, fear, or misunderstanding. What is important for you to know, is that your mind controls your reality. If you choose to believe something or not believe something, your reality morphs. I help people get to the barebones of who they are, their diagnosis, and their unique needs to make their own lives better. Often the change people want to have, lies with them knowing their own power to change their condition and manage the cards they were dwelt. However, it does not happen overnight. It involves reframing, new behavior, and overriding negative scripts. Keeping all of this in mind, I want you to come into therapy being willing to change, learn, ask questions, and trust the process to see results.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy
During the first session, apart from intake, is setting the tone by building authentic communication. I want to hear what is important to you, who do you feel closest to in your relationships, and what do you want for yourself to grow. I often bring humor and my natural giddiness into the therapy space which I believe helps clients feel comfortable being themselves. As we go through early stages of therapy, I gather information, evaluate your current coping skills, introduce the basics of self-regulation, and continue to process your stressors to find practical solutions. Along the journey, clients should feel seen and heard, as well as go through the ups and downs of their therapy process. I highly encourage my client to tell me what does or does not work and explore that with me so each moment of the therapy process client can meet their goals.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My personal values include authenticity, empathy, connection and transparency. As a Black person, a woman, a free spirit, a empath, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend, and as a new mom, I want to provide warmth and safety in my therapy space. As a Marriage and Family. Therapist, my specialty shines a spotlight on how important relationships are and how they contribute to shaping ones' character and choices.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I evaluate client's interests and goals to identify the best therapeutic approach. I have an eclectic therapeutic approach so I use as many approaches (that I know of ) until we find the best option or combination for the client's unique needs.
