About Paula

Paula Lowe-Chin is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor & Qualified Supervisor (LMHC-QS) who has over 15 years of experience working with others to help them grow and develop. She has worked with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. Paula has also worked with clinicians to help develop them into becoming better therapists who are skilled as assisting others in their growth.

Paula completed her Master of Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In addition to working with clients from diverse backgrounds, she has also worked in many different types of settings to provide services including inpatient, outpatient, residential, corporate employee assistance programs, and so on. Paula is looking forward to helping you along your journey. Reaching out for support and assistance takes courage, so as you embark on this journey she wants to assist and support you to make the journey a little easier. Get to know Paula

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I LOVE working with people and seeing them make progress that at times they thought was not possible.

What types of clients do you work with best?

Anyone who is willing to put in the effort to make progress.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Those who want to do the work to improve their mental wellness.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

Most goals that may seem impossible get much easier the more effort and time you put into achieving them.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

The flexibility and potential to grow both personally and professionally.

What inspires you?

Knowing that things will be better in the future and that we have a loving creator who has promised us this.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

We will take the time to get to know each other to ensure that we are both a good "fit" for our time together.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

We identify your goals and how we can work together to accomplish them.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

Therapy/ Supervision is not always a comfortable process, but the most growth happens when you are uncomfortable. So try not to focus on going through the process, but instead focus on growing through it.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Play tennis and read

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

Consistency
