Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I’ve seen firsthand how difficult life can be for young people dealing with trauma, loss, and emotional challenges. After losing my mother at a young age, I watched my younger brother struggle with behavioral and academic difficulties without consistent support. That experience motivated me to pursue a career where I could provide the understanding, guidance, and hope that families like mine need. I want to help children and adolescents not just survive their challenges, but truly heal and thrive.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Children and adolescents
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that the healing process can't be rushed and that it is ok to not be ok at times.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect transparency and authenticity from me.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is deeply shaped by my own experiences with trauma and loss, as well as witnessing the struggles my younger brother faced after we lost our mother. These personal experiences have given me a profound sense of empathy and understanding for the pain that children, adolescents, and families endure.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Each client’s story is unique, so I take into account their personal history, culture, and environment to tailor therapy in a way that truly meets them where they are. This individualized approach helps create a safe and supportive space where clients feel understood and empowered to work toward their goals.
