About Kimberly
I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) with over 33 years of experience in the field. I offer a compassionate, holistic, and strength-based approach to therapy that meets clients where they are. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in group homes, outpatient clinics, schools, and private practice, and have also served as a clinical supervisor, clinical director, and adjunct professor. I specialize in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, and major life transitions.
I earned my master’s in pre-clinical psychology from San Diego State University and my PhD in school psychology at the University of Denver. My approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, positive psychology, Adlerian therapy, and solution-focused techniques, while taking a holistic view of wellness.
Life can feel overwhelming, and it’s okay to ask for help. I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you’ll be seen, heard, and supported. Together, we’ll explore challenges, strengthen coping skills, and create balance in your life. Take the next step in your wellness journey by scheduling a session with me today.

"As someone who has struggled with anxiety personally, I understand that life can feel overwhelming at times, and I am committed to walking alongside you as we navigate stress, anxiety, and change together."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a therapist because I am passionate about helping others navigate their mental health challenges and improve their overall well-being. I find it rewarding to support individuals in overcoming difficulties, gaining insight, and making positive changes in their lives.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Clients who are facing life transitions, struggling with anxiety and depression, stress and relationship issues.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Therapy is a safe and non-judgmental space where they can be their authentic, true selves. Healing takes time, and progress might be gradual, but every small step is significant. Setbacks are normal-what matters is the willingness to continue and the support available along the way. Mental health is a journey, and seeking help is a positive first step toward growth and well-being.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
I focus on relationship building. Clients can expect a warm, accepting and open approach from me, where I take the time to learn about them and what they hope to gain from our work together.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is informed by a deep commitment to empathy and collaboration, as well as personal experiences navigating stress and life transitions. I aim to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood and empowered to grow.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I personalize therapy to fit each client by partnering with them on the goals that matter to them, making sure I consider their background strengths and preferences, and adjusting my approach to what feels most helpful and comfortable.
