About Jamie

I am a registered mental health counselor intern (RMHCI) with 2 years of experience supporting clients who want to heal, grow, and feel more connected to themselves and others. I take a trauma-informed, holistic approach that honors the mind, body, and spirit. I help individuals and families navigate life transitions, relationship stress, anxiety, depression, and attachment concerns so they can build emotional strength and create more meaningful relationships and inner peace.

I earned my master’s in mental health counseling from Jacksonville University. I use trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy to meet you where you are and help you build insight, strengthen coping skills, and support meaningful growth.

My style is gentle and empowering. I believe healing begins when you feel safe enough to explore your experiences with compassion and curiosity. Clients describe me as calm and grounded, and I strive to offer that same steady presence in every session. I look forward to helping you move toward clarity, confidence, and lasting emotional well-being.

Get to know Jamie

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became a counselor to facilitate positive change. Witnessing the impact of unresolved generational trauma in my own family motivated me to empower individuals and families to break free from unhealthy cycles. My personal experiences instilled a deep empathy and commitment to guiding clients towards greater wellness and stability through a growth mindset.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who are open and willing to create meaningful change in their lives. Together, we can explore what’s holding you back, build supportive and healthy habits, and move toward a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and fulfilling. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, honoring your pace while supporting your growth.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is a process that unfolds over time. Therapy can

bring moments of clarity and relief, as well as moments that feel emotionally tiring or

challenging. All of these experiences are part of the work. With patience, self-compassion, and

commitment, meaningful growth happens—often in ways that become clearer as you continue

along the journey.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In the first session and early stages of therapy with me, clients can expect to complete intake paperwork, spend time getting to know each other, learn about the therapy process, and begin the process of building a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

By getting to know each client as an individual and understanding their unique needs and wants, I tailor the therapy process to best meet their specific goals and preferences. Actively listening to my clients and striving to deeply understand them is key to providing personalized, effective support.
