About Provider

About Elizabeth

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 8 years of experience dedicated to helping individuals enhance their mental well-being, build stronger relationships, and rediscover purpose. Using a personalized, client-centered approach, I've worked across various treatment settings providing crisis stabilization, short-term, and long-term care in intensive psychosocial rehabilitation, outpatient clinics, and residential facilities. I've supported adults with severe and persistent mental illness, including forensic backgrounds, as well as adolescents, adults, and couples addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, communication issues, and life transitions.

My approach is rooted in strengths-based and compassion-focused care. I believe in tailoring each therapeutic experience to honor your unique identity, values, and goals. My clinical framework integrates evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, positive psychology, and creative therapeutic techniques to support your journey toward healing and growth.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel daunting, but I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can gain insight, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward meaningful change. Whether you're navigating life stressors or working toward long-term healing, I'm here to guide you on your path to wellness and a more empowered life.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

We all face challenges—some more overwhelming than others. Before becoming a counselor, I personally experienced the impact of meaningful support from professionals in this field. The guidance I received was transformative, and it inspired me to offer that same support to others. I firmly believe that counselors should commit to doing their own inner work and embody the principles they encourage in others. Becoming a counselor has allowed me not only to share the tools and insights that helped me, but to continue evolving in my own journey as a helper.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work well with clients from both similar and diverse backgrounds. Whether we share common experiences or come from very different walks of life, I believe that building authentic rapport is at the heart of effective therapy. I strive to connect with each person in a genuine and respectful way, honoring their individuality and unique perspective. Creating a strong therapeutic relationship requires flexibility, empathy, and curiosity—qualities I bring to every client interaction.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish all clients truly understood the incredible strengths and resilience they already hold within themselves. Even when faced with difficult circumstances, they have the capacity to grow, heal, and create meaningful change. Therapy is a collaborative journey, but ultimately, they are the true agents of their own transformation. Recognizing their own power and potential can be incredibly empowering and is often the first step toward lasting growth.

What inspires you?

I am deeply inspired by witnessing clients grow and create lasting, meaningful changes in their lives. Transformation is rarely easy—it requires courage, resilience, and commitment, especially given the unique challenges each person brings to therapy. Being part of that journey and seeing individuals reclaim their strength, develop new perspectives, and build healthier patterns motivates me every day. It’s a privilege to support people as they navigate their struggles and move toward greater well-being and fulfillment.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

In the first session, we’ll begin with an initial intake to gather important background information and better understand your current situation. This session is also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about the therapy process, my approach, or anything else on your mind as we begin working together. Most importantly, I want to create a safe and welcoming space where you feel comfortable sharing your reasons for seeking therapy and the goals you hope to achieve. Together, we’ll start building a foundation of trust and collaboration to guide your healing and growth moving forward.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

In the first session, my primary goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment that helps ease any anxiety or uncertainty a client may have about the therapeutic process. I deeply honor the courage it takes to seek help and acknowledge the vulnerability involved in that step. It’s important for me to validate those feelings and let clients know they are understood and supported from the very beginning. Building genuine rapport and trust is my top priority during this initial meeting, as it lays the foundation for a collaborative and effective therapeutic relationship. I also aim to clarify the therapy process and invite open communication, so clients feel empowered to share their goals and concerns as we move forward together.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

Before scheduling a session with me, it’s helpful to know that I am direct and honest in my communication. I believe that clear and open dialogue is essential for growth and healing. At the same time, I am deeply committed to creating a supportive, compassionate space where you feel heard and valued. My goal is to balance encouragement and challenge—providing you with the tools, insights, and motivation needed to make meaningful progress toward your goals. I work collaboratively with each client, tailoring my approach to meet your unique needs and pace, always honoring your individuality throughout the process.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking through nature trails or swimming to relax and recharge. I also love attending comedy shows because laughter is a wonderful way to unwind and connect with others. Beyond that, I cherish moments spent with friends and family, as nurturing these relationships brings me joy and balance. Traveling is another passion of mine, as it offers new experiences and fresh perspectives that enrich both my personal and professional life.
